We feel great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Arabic, University of Kashmir. The department was established in 1980, and during the last thirty year of its existence it has made great strides in academics. It has the privilege of being headed by eminent scholars and academicians like Prof. Maqbool Ahmad, Prof. R. R. Sherwani and Prof. S. M. Ijtiba Nadvi. Thus the department got proper direction in designing the courses since its inception. We are committed to excellence in teaching and research. We are fortunate enough to have a well experienced and committed faculty specializing in different areas of the subject. We are well poised to provide supportive environment for the academic pursuits. The placement record of the pass out of the department has remained satisfactory all along these years. It is our strong belief that we will be able to help our youth in building their career and inculcating self confidence in them.
